Published on 13/04/2017

Imperial College London, with support from the European Society of Human Genetics (ESHG), are running a short course on the 'Introduction to the statistical analysis of genome-wide association studies' from the 4th to 8th July 2017.

The course will enable attendees to analyse large-scale genetic data using standard analytical approaches and freely available software tools. It will cover statistical background for association studies; scripting in the most frequently used computational environments; the design and analysis of such studies and the interpretation of results.

Each topic will be covered by a lecture, followed by a practical exercise, which will include use of the state-of-the-art software tools and example datasets.

Three guest lectures will be given by renowned scientists in the field of human genetics.

A limited number of ESHG-funded scholarships are available for young scientists in training from European countries. The deadline for applications for fellowships is 20th April 2017.

Please see the website for more information about the course, fees and experience required.
